Businesses Can Reveal Their Vaccination Measures Through Yelp Pages

Vaccination records businesses, Yelp Reviews

As an optional measure, US businesses can now require their guests to show Coronavirus vaccination proof for entry. A business with a Yelp profile can also show a piece of information revealing that it has these measures through the page. An example of the detail is this: “All staffers fully vaccinated” or “Vaccination proof required”. What that business may want to reveal through its Yelp webpage depends on its requirements in this regard.

Noorie Malik of Yelp Incorporated revealed that Yelp is proactively monitoring the review site’s pages of business enterprises activating these attributes. Yelp is taking that measure to help any business that may face criticism for its Coronavirus vaccination policies.

Yelp’s website also has an option for a business to show its mask guidelines. Does your business necessitate potential customers to use masks? Or, does it wish to inform guests that workers must wear face masks? If so, it could use the option on Yelp to show that above-mentioned piece of information.

Yelp stated that it would also closely monitor a phenomenon it describes as ‘review bombing’. For the uninitiated, it is a phenomenon where numerous fake user reviews are posted online to harm the reputation or sales of a product. Review bombing has happened as a business gained popularity for its mask or vaccination requirements in the epidemic period.

Malik also stated that Yelp is establishing measures to protect its business clients from negative opinions on their enforced COVID-19 safety and health measures. As for Malik, review bombing often happened and was monitored as Yelp allowed displaying business terms “Asian-owned,” “LGBTQ-owned,” and “Latinx-owned.”

As previously, Yelp would show unusual activity alerts in the event of a business getting an unexpected influx of user reviews.

Many businesses now have Los Angeles County’s approved option to necessitate vaccination proof or negative Coronavirus test results. Several entertainment venues, restaurants and bars in LAC use the option.

In mid-July, LAC brought back its indoor face mask ordinance for everyone, irrespective of their status of vaccination. On August 05, 2021, the US county registered 3,672 more cases, 1,279 hospital admissions and 19 deaths related to Coronavirus disease.
