LAPPL Demands Corrective Action Against NBA Player Jaxson Hayes

The Los Angeles Police Protective League has asked the National Basketball Association to take disciplinary action against Jaxson Hayes. The demand came after law enforcement booked the New Orleans Pelicans player, as he resisted arrest. Law enforcement reacted to a domestic disturbance situation at the residence of Jaxson Hayes’s girlfriend.

Hayes became more intense just as he physically injured one of the LAPPL officers. It did not take long for law enforcement to take Hayes into custody, where the player posted bail of $25,000 too.

The LAPPL checked the officer body cam footage concerned, and it felt that the player behaved in a way that is beyond reasonable. Then, it demanded corrective action in its recent letter to both the New Orleans Pelicans’ Gayle Benson and the NBA’s Adam Silver.

Through that letter, the LAPPL did the following.

  • Told Silver that Hayes’s actions are not acceptable and lawful as well as are a case breaching many of the NBA policies.
  • Respectfully requested an immediate investigation into what Hayes did before the incident, during it and afterwards.
  • Requested the Association to take proper corrective action so that Haynes could be held responsible for what he did.

TMZ has got phone camera footage where officers could be seen firing a taser at the player. Therefore, the Los Angeles Police Department is looking into the recent incident for likely excessive force. The player in question claimed that officers fired the weapon at his neck as well as that he was unable to breathe.

As for the LAPPL, Hayes used the highly offensive N-word at the time, an unacceptable form of behavior under the NBA’s policies. Therefore, the LAPPL demanded that the NBA take immediate action to demonstrate that it treats domestic abuse reports as being significant and warranting attention.
