California’s Governor Expects The State To Reopen Fully On June 15

Governor Gavin Newsome expects California to reopen June 15

During a recent presser, Governor Gavin Newsom said that California would go beyond its COVID-19 blueprint in mid-June. With that statement, Newsom confirmed June 15, 2021, as the date that would mark the state economy’s reopening.

Going beyond that blueprint made to lower COVID-19 cases, would result in the effect of removing the so-called colored tiers. Anyhow, Newsom also highlighted the importance to keep doing the good things that people in California are doing, to enable the reopening.

The state spent the previous 31-plus weeks under a restrictive tier, as per the aforementioned blueprint. Newsom put out a tweet to highlight the 1.6% COVID-19 positivity rate in California, the lowest for the country as of then. He attributed it to a big vaccine administration effort in the US state, which saw over 20 million vaccines being administered to eligible people.

In another recent update, the state governor said that he expects schools to reopen for conventional education at every level here.

On the aforesaid date, California expects to make the process of returning to schools a barrier-free experience for kids. That applies to students at not only a K-12 level but also higher levels.

The monitoring system of California for coronavirus cases might no longer exist, but face masks would be here for a long time, as per Newsom. The governor is also willing to hear arguments against those personal protective equipment elements. However, he said that California’s mask mandate would remain until the information supports claims that those are not effective elements.

Newsom expressed his disappointment about MLB’s Texas Rangers’ home opener with over 30,000 attendees in Arlington. Newsom was disappointed because there is no mask mandate in the state of Texas. For your information, Arlington is a city situated in Texas, which is not under Newsom’s jurisdiction.

The governor added that COVID-19 keeps being a rampant and deadly health issue. At the same time, he expressed his willingness to hear the arguments and interest in evidence. He made sure to highlight that the said pieces of information would decide on the mask matter instead of some political whim.
