Indoor Mask Mandate Lifted For Completely Vaccinated Individuals

According to the latest recommendation by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, it is no longer a requirement for people who are fully vaccinated to wear masks indoors. However, all people should keep their masks on while using public transportation.

As per this newly updated recommendation, fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks or follow the social distancing norms in every indoor situation such as in shopping malls, restaurants, etc. However, it is recommended to follow all the norms when they are in trains, buses, hospitals, buses, airplanes, prisons, etc.

In a recent briefing at the White House, director of the CDC Rochelle Walensky has said that folks who are fully vaccinated could start doing what they had to stop because of the pandemic. She added that every one of us was longing for that moment in which we could return to some form of normalcy. The recommendation came after the CDC got the data that showed the efficacy of the vaccine against COVID-19 strains that have been transmitted in the US.

The CDC director also stated that people who are fully vaccinated no longer have to bother wearing a mask when they are outside, even in a crowd. It is important to note that at the time of writing this, Los Angeles County’s mask mandates are against the CDC outdoor mask recommendation. It is mandatory to wear masks in outdoor crowds in Los Angeles even if you are fully vaccinated.

Walensky added that the recommendation may get reverted at any time if the spread of the coronavirus increases. California Governor Gavin Newsom is also aiming to lift the mask mandate on or before June 25. The state is aiming to completely reopen its economy without any restrictions in place.
