Coronavirus Leads To USC Versus Cal Game Postponement

The football game between California Golden Bears and USC Trojans has been postponed thanks to a coronavirus outbreak in the former team. Athletic director of California Golden Bears Jim Knowlton announced this piece of news and stated that some players of his team were tested COVID-19 positive.

Knowlton stated that the decision to postpone the match was made thanks to further impact on certain position groups. Knowlton assured that all possible steps are being taken to reduce the spread of coronavirus disease and safeguard the community at large.

In its earlier match against the Arizona Wildcats, California Golden Bears played without many of its players and coaching staffers due to COVID-19 positive test results. Over the last few days, many players had not been able to prepare for the next match, which contributed to its postponement.

California Golden Bears’ signal-caller Chase Garbers expressed player frustration with the coronavirus testing regulations from the University Health Services (UHS). Garbers tweeted that the testing should not have happened as it was not mandatory for the players. He also said that the UHS stated that the players could not take part in football-related activities if they refused to undergo the tests.

The USC Trojans and California Golden Bears agreed to postpone the match to December 04, 2021, after the former team was made aware of the outbreak.
